Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias, discussed the latest development in Libya with the Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia, Armin Laschet.

Dendias expressed his readiness to engage in dialogue on the demarcation of maritime borders within the framework of international law, the law of the sea, and good-neighbourly relations.

The Greek FM stated that effective dialogue cannot be reached under current threats – referring to Turkey’s actions regarding the Libyan crisis.

Ankara continues to escalate its involvement in the Libyan conflict by supporting the Tripoli-based, Government of National Accord (GNA). This is despite Turkey participating in and agreeing to the results of the Berlin Conference held in January. During the conference, foreign states active in Libya, agreed to end any interference and uphold the UN arms embargo.
