Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Al-Nafti, reaffirmed his country’s unwavering support for a Libyan-Libyan political solution and the ongoing efforts of the United Nations in Libya.

His remarks came during a meeting on Tuesday with the Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Hanna Serwaa Tetteh, according to a statement published by Tunisia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Al-Nafti emphasized Tunisia’s continued commitment to backing UN efforts aimed at promoting dialogue, national reconciliation, and political consensus among Libyan stakeholders. He reiterated Tunisia’s belief in a sustainable, Libyan-owned resolution that ensures the country’s security, stability, and contributes to peace and prosperity in the region.

For her part, Tetteh presented the UN Mission’s strategic plan for Libya and praised Tunisia’s consistent support for UN mediation efforts. She also expressed appreciation for Tunisia’s cooperation and its role in facilitating the Mission’s work by providing the necessary resources and logistical support.

The UN envoy lauded Tunisia’s balanced and constructive stance on the Libyan file and its active role in promoting intra-Libyan dialogue and reconciliation.
