Italian Initiative to Support Agricultural Projects in Libya

The Libyan Ministries of Local Government, and of Agriculture, held a meeting with the Italian Embassy in Libya to discuss ways to support agricultural projects in the country.

The meeting was headed by the Minister of Local Government in the Government of National Accord (GNA), Milad Al-Taher. It focused on Italian support for agricultural projects in the southern regions, under the supervision of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM).

This initiative comes within a series of programs and projects to further cooperation between the two countries. The meeting was also attended by Souad Al-Wahidi, the Adviser to the Presidential Council, Fathi Al-Siddiq Bairam, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, and Adel Al-Said, the Italy director at the Ministry of Local Government. In addition to Giuseppe Buccino, the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Nicolo Patroni, the counselor of the Italian Embassy in Libya, and a number of officials were also present during the meeting.
