A senior Jordanian military delegation has commended the progress and professionalism of Libya’s armed forces following an official visit to Benghazi on Thursday.

The delegation was led by Colonel Barraa Abu Shaqir, Rapporteur of the Libyan-Jordanian Military Cooperation Committee, and included defense officials from both countries.

He met with General Khairi Al-Tamimi, Secretary-General of the Libyan General Command, at military headquarters in Rajma. The meeting was also attended by Colonel Abdelqader Qazza, Libya’s military training coordinator in Jordan.

During the visit, the delegation toured several key military institutions, including the Military Academy in Tokra, the Command and Staff College, the new Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar Military City, and the Lamlouda Military Training Center.

Colonel Abu Shaqir praised Libya’s armed forces for their professionalism, discipline, and organizational growth. He described the progress as a “clear reflection of stability earned through years of sacrifice and determination,” adding that the security seen today is one of the most tangible results of Libya’s war against terrorism.

The Jordanian delegation stressed the importance of sustained military cooperation between the two nations, particularly in areas such as officer training, operational planning, and institutional development. Jordan reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Libya’s military revival, citing shared regional security interests and a longstanding strategic relationship.

Libyan military officials welcomed the visit as a strong signal of international recognition of the country’s institutional progress. They emphasized that rebuilding the armed forces remains central to safeguarding national unity and restoring the state’s authority.
