Al-Agouri: We Are Committed to Working with Neighbouring Countries to Restore Stability to Libya

The head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Libyan Parliament, Yousef Al-Agouri, affirmed that the parliament is committed to working with neighbouring countries and other countries concerned with the Libyan file. This is in order to restore stability and peace to Libya and stop foreign interference.

Al-Agouri stressed the parliament’s support for the work of the UN mission in performing its duties on all tracks to restore stability to the country. He added that the ceasefire agreement is an opportunity to resume political dialogue and open the file of transitional justice, reconciliation as well as the fair distribution of the country’s wealth.

Al-Agouri pointed out the importance of international efforts to support the Parliament to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people in building a state of institutions with rule of law. Also, he stressed the need to dissolve armed groups and seek the organisation of elections in which the Libyan people will choose who rules them.
