As part of ongoing efforts to support learning environments for displaced children, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) has distributed school bags to 151 Sudanese refugee children enrolled in non-formal education programmes at the Bayti Centre, operated by UNICEF Libya in the city of Kufra.

Thousands of Children Supported Across Eastern Libya

In total, UNHCR has delivered 2,841 school bags to students across eastern Libya. This includes 2,517 Sudanese refugee children and 324 Libyan children, ensuring they have access to essential educational materials for the current academic year.

The initiative aims to ease the financial burden on families affected by conflict and displacement, while helping both refugee and local children continue their education in a stable, supportive environment.
