The General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA), issued a statement regarding the current events taking place in western Libya. It expressed its deep concern regarding the security, chaos, and violations sweeping the region.

It added that it was closely following developments in Tripoli as it supports steps to combat terrorism, impose law and order, and eliminate the chaos that threatens the security, and safety of the country.

“The Libyan National Army is not currently interfering in destabilisation operations in the west of the country. This does not mean we will allow our people to face the same fate. Rather, it means that we allow the tribal representatives to implement order in these areas,” the statement said.

“The LNA hopes that these steps will lead to the launch of a successful political process, to end the ongoing crisis,” it added.
