Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, urged a firm Arab policy towards Turkey’s destructive practices in the region. He stressed that the blatant Turkish interventions in the region represent the most important threats facing Arab national security.

The FM’s remarks came during a speech he gave at the Arab Ministerial Committee, on Turkish interventions in Arab Countries. This Committee was headed by Egypt, as part of the 154th regular session of the Arab League, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said.

In his speech, Shoukry reviewed activities by Ankara, which have ignited societal and sectarian divisions in the region. He emphasized in this regard the need for a unified and resolute Arab policy to deter further Turkish ambitions.

The FM also shed light on the extent of the blatant interventions by Ankara. This includes facilitating the entry of tens of thousands of terrorists into Syria, sending thousands of fighters to Libya, and jeopardizing the resources of the Iraqi and Libyan people, by signing illegal MoUs.
