Head of PFG Announces Start of Oil Production

September 19, 2020

On Friday, the Head of Libya’s Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG), Major General Naji Al-Maghribi, issued a letter to all ports and oil companies affiliated with the National Oil Corporation (NOC). In the letter, he called for the immediate resumption of production, and export operations from Friday.

This is based on the decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar. The Commander explained that the production will resume, according to procedures that ensure a fair distribution of revenues. These procedures will prevent the use of funds to support militias, extremists, and foreign mercenaries.
