Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey held high-level talks in Cairo to discuss the latest developments in Gaza, Sudan, Libya and Iran, as part of ongoing regional consultations on crises affecting the Middle East and North Africa.

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the sidelines of the four-party regional meeting hosted by Cairo.

The trilateral meeting came within the framework of continued coordination between Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey on regional issues of shared concern, amid rising tensions across several crisis-hit areas.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf said the ministers exchanged views on a number of regional files, with the situation in the Gaza Strip at the top of the agenda. The talks also covered developments in Sudan and Libya, the latest updates on the Iranian file, and the situation in the Horn of Africa.

The three foreign ministers stressed the importance of maintaining joint coordination and consultation between their countries to support regional security and stability.

They also underlined the need to advance efforts aimed at resolving regional crises through political solutions and dialogue, rather than further escalation.

The meeting reflects Cairo’s growing diplomatic role in bringing regional powers together at a time of mounting pressure over the war in Gaza, the conflict in Sudan, political divisions in Libya, tensions surrounding Iran, and instability in the Horn of Africa.
