The Security Room of Greater Benghazi has held its second meeting at the chamber’s headquarters in the General Intelligence Department building on Saturday.

According to a press briefing published by the Room, the meeting served to review the measures that were taken in the previous meeting.

The participants discussed setting up a working mechanism to dismantle armed military organisations and evacuating the headquarters under their control. They also discussed building a joint military and security force to implement the decisions issued by the chamber regarding law enforcement and the rule of justice.

The meeting was chaired by the Room’s Head, Lieutenant-General Abdel-Razek Al-Nadhouri, and representatives of the Minister of Interior, Director of Benghazi Security, Director of the Internal Security Branch, Commander of the Benghazi Military Police Brigade, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Director of the Negative Phenomena Authority, and the Military Prosecutor.

Last Wednesday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, ordered the formation of a security room for the Greater Benghazi area.
