Tunisia`s Transport Ministry announced on Saturday that the flights between Tunisia and Libya are set to resume next week. They had been halted for 8 months due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The ministry said that the flights between the two countries will resume, starting November 15th.

The ministry added that measures will be arranged according to a health protocol that was reached between the two countries on Wednesday to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last March, Tunisia closed airports for inbound flights and it partially resumed flights on June 27.

The coronavirus pandemic has killed more than 1.3 million people in 191 countries around the world since last December.

The United States, India, and Brazil are currently the worst-hit countries by the novel coronavirus.

More than 53.1 million cases have been reported worldwide, 34.2 million of which have recovered, according to figures compiled by the US-based Johns Hopkins University.
