On Monday, the Supreme Committee on Coronavirus held its fourth meeting to discuss the possibility of imposing a curfew between all cities in Libya in order to prevent an outbreak of COVID-19 on Libyan territory. The Committee is chaired by Minister of Health Hamid bin Omar of the Government of National Accord (GNA).

During the meeting, the Committee discussed the measures being taken by the GNA to provide fully-equipped quarantine facilities in the event that Libyan citizens contracted the novel Coronavirus.

The Committee also tasked the Undersecretary of Interior Affairs to draw up a plan for the optimal allocation of municipal funds to counter the pandemic.

The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs reviewed his Ministry’s coordination with foreign consulates to monitor the health conditions and the requests of Libyan citizens who are currently stranded abroad.
