The situation in Libya topped the bilateral talks between the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad, and Tunisia’s President, Kais Saied.

According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), Bin Hamad congratulated Saied on the success of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF). This was held in Tunisia, under the auspices of the United Nations.

President Saied confirmed the existence of a strong will, sincere determination, and common desire between Qatar and Tunisia to further develop cooperation between the two countries in various fields, QNA reported.

He pointed out the level of coordination between the two countries in various regional and international issues. “The issue of terrorism was touched upon in his talks in Doha, as there is a common approach between the two countries in this aspect,” the President specified.

Saied clarified that, “There is a joint proposal between Qatar and Tunisia to hold an Islamic-Western conference or dialogue aimed at achieving more understanding and overcoming the obstacles that appear following some terrorist operations adopted by extremist parties.”

The Tunisian president also referred to the level of coordination and rapprochement between Qatar and Tunisia on regional issues, similar to the situation in Libya.
