On Tuesday, the Egyptian Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel-Aal extended an invitation to his Libyan counterpart Ageela Saleh to meet in Cairo..

In a letter Abdel-Aal stated, “We are pleased to invite you, and MPs who wish to hold a consultative meeting in Cairo on 24 November. This is to discuss the latest important developments and reach agreements on a number of issues required for a political solution to the current crisis.”

He also emphasized the great responsibility entrusted to the parliament by the people, during these turbulent times. Abdel-Aal affirmed that, “The Egyptian leadership and people stand behind our Libyan brothers to overcome their current ordeal. Egyptian support their efforts to achieve their aspirations for a modern, democratic, and civil state where people will enjoy stability, prosperity, and prosperity.”

On Sunday, the UN-brokered political talks between Libyan rivals ended without reaching a firm agreement. The talks are over mechanisms for choosing a new government. The UN Support Mission in Libya’s (UNSMIL) Acting Head, Stephanie Williams, announced that political consultations would resume after a week. The meeting will be held via video conference.
