On Thursday, the Libyan National Army (LNA) ended a tribal conflict in the eastern city of Tobruk, which left four people dead and twenty injured.

Bloody clashes erupted yesterday evening, between members of Al-Qatan and Al-Ubaid tribes, in a dispute over the management of the city’s Social Security office.

This conflict resulted in an attack on the Social Security office, and the city’s court with the use of grenades. LNA forces were able to restore security to the region, evacuate the official headquarters, and arrest the attackers.

The commander of Tobruk’s military region, Major General Salem Al-Rafadi, took over the security headquarters along with tribal elders in the region.

Tribal conflicts arise from time to time in the region but are quickly dealt with through mediation.
