Sirte’s Municipal Council announced that it is scheduled to receive on Tuesday the first convoy containing supplies of fuel, cooking gas, medicines, and medical equipment provided by the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

The council stated that the convoy was loaded with a large number of basic goods for the city. It pointed out that there will be a ceremony to receive the convoy at the entrance of Sirte Island. The council added that such supplies are being sent free of charge to the people of Sirte.

Last week, Haftar held a meeting in Benghazi with a tribal delegation from Sirte. The meeting focused on the current situation in the city, and the efforts made by the armed forces in coordination with security services to maintain security in areas under its control.

The delegation reiterated its full support for the LNA in its war on terror. “They affirmed their full appreciation for all the efforts exerted by the military establishment in the east, west, and south,” the statement added.

Haftar commended the great role played by all Libyan tribes, reiterating his appreciation and gratitude for their efforts and support for the LNA.
