On Wednesday, Misrata International Airport announced the resumption of flights on Friday, after the completion of its arrival hall.

In a statement, the airport said that the first flight will be on the Tunis-Misrata route and be operated by Libyan Wings Airlines on Friday 1/01/2021. It added that the schedule for the airport will be announced as soon as it becomes available.

Air traffic was suspended at Misrata International Airport in August due to a fire at the airport’s passenger terminal.

Last week, the Airports Authority convened a meeting with its respective committees to review the proposal submitted by the Turkish Albayrak Company regarding construction work for Misrata International Airport. The committees handed over their final report to the Airports Authority, which will take the necessary procedures.
