Kubis Discusses Upcoming Libyan Elections

On Monday, Chairman of Libya’s High National Election Commission (HNEC), Emad Al-Sayeh received the Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) Jan Kubis and his accompanying delegation.

In a statement, Kubis expressed his appreciation for all national and international efforts that have contributed to achieving the unity, sovereignty, and stability of Libya. He praised the understanding between political parties towards the electoral path.

Kubis pointed to the commitment of the United Nations to complete the democratic path by supporting the commission at this important stage in Libya’s history.

Al-Sayeh reviewed the technical and logistical preparations of the commission, its level of readiness to hold the elections, and the momentum of technical and administrative expertise.
