Mohamed Baio, the former Head of the Libyan Media Foundation denounced the military convoys entering Tripoli.
“These convoys that have been terrorizing Tripoli, not only tonight, but for 11 years, that is, for more than 4,000 nights, will not stop swallowing money and terrifying the Libyans until a state is established,” Baio said.
“Will the establishment of the state be before the Day of Resurrection?” he asked on Twitter.
Earlier in May, Baio called for protecting Libya’s oil and gas from political conflicts.
He added that the revenues generated are the only source of national income, and the sole livelihood of the Libyan people. “It is undoubtedly wrong to use it as a means of pressure to achieve factional or regional interests.”
“It is treacherous and criminal to continue the placement of hard currency revenues and their source, at the disposal of a person, who has no legal jurisdiction,” in reference to the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Al-Siddiq Al-Kabeer.
“He works by bullying, supporting occupation, violating the law, and rebelling against the legislative authority. The position of CBL Governor has been frozen and even nullified for 8 years.”
He confirmed that the existence, and powers of the bank’s Board of Directors and friend, Omar Al-Kabeer, are illegal.
“Placing the resources of the public treasury both hard and local currencies, at the disposal of a central feudal executive authority is also treachery and injustice.”
“The people have no authority over this, nor the ability of the legislative, judicial, and supervisory authorities to monitor, hold accountable, punish, and stop their corruption, arrogance, tyranny, and recklessness,” he concluded.
