Foreign Ministers of Egypt and UK Discuss Solutions For Political Settlement in Libya

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shokry discussed latest developments in Libya and possible ways to reach a comprehensive political settlement in the country with his British counterpart, Dominic Raab.

According to Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Hafeth the two discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern, adding that “The Ministers praised the relations they held and the importance of continuing to develop stronger ties in order to achieve the interests of the two states.”

Hafeth pointed out that the call reviewed a number of regional issues, such as Palestine, emphasizing the importance of a two-state solution.

Both ministers also exchanged views on how to deal with the global COVID-19 pandemic, stressing the importance of intensifying coordination and cooperation at the international level in order to confront the spread of the virus.
