An international high-level legal team led by lawyer Khaled Al-Zaidi has held talks with Libya’s Attorney General Al-Siddiq Al-Sour regarding the investigation into the alleged assassination attempt against Saif al-Islam Gaddafi.

The meeting came at the request of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi’s family and brought together senior prosecutors overseeing the case to review the latest investigative developments.

According to judicial sources, the delegation held an expanded session with members of the Public Prosecution responsible for the file. Discussions focused on the procedures taken at various stages of the case, as well as the technical and legal aspects aimed at strengthening the investigation’s effectiveness in line with established legal frameworks.

The international team stressed that its role is limited to providing technical and analytical support, including advanced analysis, evidence linkage, and evaluation in accordance with international standards. The two sides agreed on clear mechanisms to coordinate cooperation between the team and the Public Prosecution to ensure institutional discipline and transparency.

For his part, Attorney General Al-Siddiq Al-Sour affirmed that investigations will continue until those responsible are identified and brought to justice. He noted that the case has become a matter of public interest given the victim’s significant local and regional profile.

The meeting reflects ongoing judicial efforts in Libya to pursue complex high-profile cases through coordinated legal and technical work.
