The family of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi has renewed pressure on Libya’s judicial authorities to reveal those responsible for his killing, nearly five months after the incident, warning against delays that could allow those involved to evade accountability.
Leading the latest calls, Aisha Gaddafi publicly criticised what she described as the slow pace of the investigation and the continued absence of clear information regarding the perpetrators and those who may have orchestrated the attack.
In a statement circulated by media outlets supportive of the former regime, she insisted that time would not diminish the case and that demands for justice would only grow stronger.
Saif al-Islam was killed on February 3 at his residence in the city of Zintan, an event that generated widespread reactions across Libya and among supporters of the Gaddafi family.
The incident also placed renewed attention on security conditions in the area and raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the attack.
In her latest remarks, Aisha Gaddafi called on those responsible to surrender themselves, arguing that evidence and modern investigative technologies would eventually expose the truth. She warned against attempts to delay justice or rely on the passage of time to obscure responsibility for the crime.
The family’s demands have been echoed by supporters and relatives, who continue to call for transparency and regular updates from the authorities. Many argue that the case has evolved into an issue of national significance, extending beyond the Gaddafi family and touching on broader concerns regarding accountability and the rule of law.
Libya’s Attorney General announced in March that investigators had identified three suspects allegedly connected to the killing. However, authorities have not publicly disclosed their identities, nor have they released substantial details regarding the progress of the investigation since that announcement.
