Due to the ongoing clashes in Tarhuna, exams at all education levels have been suspended in the city.

Tarhuna is witnessing armed clashes between rival battalions . There are a number of reported deaths, and injuries.

One of the groups was identified as part of the ‘Naaji brigade’. The other is believed to be the ‘Rada Special Deterrence Forces’, which is based in Tripoli’s Mitiga airbase.

Fathi Bashaga, the Interior Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA), arrived in Cairo on Wednesday. This is the first visit by a senior official from western Libya to the Egyptian capital since the 2019 offensive on Tripoli by the Libyan National Army (LNA).

Neighbouring Egypt is closely allied with the eastern-based interim government which is supported by the LNA.
