Haftar Orders to Protect & Support Wounded Soldiers

On Monday, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar held a meeting with the Head of the Department of Martyrs, Missing, and War Wounded Affairs. They discussed a number of issues related to the department’s work.

The meeting comes within the framework of the General Commander’s interest in overcoming all obstacles faced by the families of martyrs and missing persons in Libya. During the talks, Haftar confirmed that those found responsible for obstructing solutions would be held accountable.

Oil-rich Libya has been torn apart by civil war since the NATO-backed uprising that ousted long-time leader Muammer Gaddafi in 2011. An array of militias have filled the security vacuum and civilian bodies struggle to impose their authority. A fragile ceasefire was signed in Geneva last October, and has largely held.
