The Ministry of Health in Tripoli held a handover ceremony for the new Minister of Health. The MoH of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Lotfi Al-Jali handed over to the Minister of Health of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Ali Al-Zanati.

In a speech during the ceremony, Al-Zanati stressed the need to work on major health issues, such as providing oncology drugs, kidney triggers, and combating the COVID-19 pandemic. He called for all departments in the Ministry and its affiliated sectors to join hands to relieve the suffering of the Libyan people.

Last week, Prime Minister of the GNU Abdul-Hamid Dbaiba won the Libyan Parliament’s vote of confidence with a majority of 132 votes.

During the session, the Speaker of Parliament Ageela Saleh urged Dbaiba to adhere to the roadmap set by the members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF). As well as ensure general elections take place as scheduled on 24 December 2021.
