Benghazi Security Directorate Arrests Curfew Violators

On Monday, the National Security Directorate in Benghazi arrested a number of individuals who had violated the curfew imposed by the Ministry of Interior and the General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA) as a measure to combat the spread of Covid-19 in Libya.

The curfew in areas under Interim Government control lasts from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m and was announced by Interior Minister Ibrahim Bouchnaf. The National Security Directorate is pursuing legal action against the violators.

On Sunday, March 29, the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 5 new cases of Coronavirus in Libya. The announcement brought the total number of Covid-19 cases across Libya to 8.
