On Monday, Libya’s Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohamed Aoun received the British Ambassador to Libya, Nicholas Hopton and his accompanying delegation in Tripoli, where they discussed bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas industry.

Aoun confirmed that the Ministry welcomed cooperation with British companies on commercial grounds. He added that the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and its companies are interested in the technical aspect of such a partnership. They also discussed ways to enhance and expand cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was also attended by Rifaat Mohamed Al-Abbar, Assistant Minister of Oil and Gas for Production Affairs. He confirmed his interest in implementing various training, development, and academic programs in the United Kingdom, and asked Ambassador Hopton to work on overcoming the difficulties in obtaining the necessary visas, to allow these programs to take place.
