Libyan PM Discusses School Plans with Ministry of Education

The Prime Minister of Libya’s Interim Government, Abdullah Al-Thini, held a meeting on Monday with his Minister of Education, Dr. Fawzi Bomeriz. The two officials discussed alternative plans for schools, which have currently been closed due to the Covid-19.

Dr. Bomeriz reassured the Prime Minister that the Ministry of Education is evaluating all available options, including distance learning for elementary and secondary schools. According to the Minister, the MoE has put enacted plans to ensure the completion of the academic year after the pandemic by implementing an extensive timetable to make up for lost time.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry present its plans in the coming week.
