Libya’s Attorney General Orders Investigation into Futsal Passenger Air Ambulance Incident

On Wednesday, two members of Libya’s National Futsal team, Wissam Mohamed Omar and Rabie Mohamed, were prevented from boarding an air ambulance for malaria treatment in Rome, and were reportedly replaced by two other passengers.

An official source in the Ministry of the Interior confirmed that the Attorney General’s office has ordered an investigation to be opened into the incident.

The source revealed that the identity of the two passengers: the first being Rafea Baio, and the second being the son of MP Salem Gnan, the advisor of Siddik Al-Kabeer, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL).

He added that the assistant captain and the on-board doctor are under investigation for preventing the malaria-infected players from boarding their special flight.
