On Saturday, the Tawargha Emergency Committee held its second meeting to discuss the mechanisms to address the threat posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the meeting the head of the Committee, Abdulrahman Al Shakshaak, confirmed that Tawargha’s local council had not received any form of financial support from the Government of National Accord (GNA).

He added that the city had responded well to the crisis so far, praising the residents’ commitment to the curfew and for respecting the new rules established by the Emergency Committee.

The meeting also stressed the importance of working unanimously to outline future plans that would contribute to reducing the spread of Covid-19.
