Mahmoud Al-Tilisi, the Undersecretary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, of the Government of National Accord, said the Ministry has formed a committee to address the issues faced with returning Libya’s stranded citizens.

In a statement, Al-Tilisi said that the number of stranded citizens abroad was over 15,000, in 45 European states, adding that the committee was working to repatriate them to Libya, after they complete a compulsory 14 day quarantine over COVID-19 concerns.

The Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, had instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take all necessary steps, in coordination with National Center for Disease Control, to help return the stranded nationals.
