On Wednesday, Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Najla Al-Mangoush participated in the inauguration of the Libyan Embassy in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

This came on the sidelines of her participation in the meeting of African Union Foreign Ministers.

Al-Mangoush stressed the importance of the presence of the embassy, where the African Union is based, and “cooperation in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, terrorism in all its forms, and creating economic opportunities that benefit African countries.”

In Addis Ababa, she met with Algeria’s Ramtane Lamamra, South Africa’s Naledi Pandor, and Angola’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Esmeralda Mendonca for a joint consultative meeting.

They reviewed the African Union’s Executive Council’s 40th session, particularly political issues and issues of peace and security in Africa.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the most pressing difficulties facing the African continent in light of the growing number of security threats. As well as the economic and health consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
