The Chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), Farhat Bengadra met with the Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohamed Aoun in Tripoli. They discussed several topics of interest regarding the oil and gas sector, including mechanisms to maintain and increase production.

They discussed “the safety of workers, project implementation, increasing refining capacity, developing discoveries, and completing projects as quickly as possible.”

As well as encouraging companies to return to develop exploration blocks, and the discoveries they had made. They also discussed increasing gas production to feed power stations, alongside training and development programs.

Aoun confirmed the Ministry’s “full support for the NOC, for the benefit of the country.”

This is the second meeting between Aoun and Bengadra. Last week, they reviewed the current production and export rates since the lifting of the force majeure on 13 July.

Aoun visited the NOC headquarters and discussed the priorities of the corporation’s subsidiaries, and ways to support and develop them to achieve their goals. Most notably maintaining the current production rates and working to increase them.
