The Military Information Division of the General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA) announced on Monday it had retaken control of the town of Alasabaa from forces aligned to the Government of National Accord (GNA).

LNA Spokesperson Ahmed Al-Mismari stated that the LNA was able to retake control of the town after an air raid against GNA forces in the Western Mountain.

The LNA stressed the importance of secrecy in military operations. It called on its soldiers and officers not to publish any information regarding military operations.

On 31 May, the LNA announced the killing of three GNA field commanders during clashes in southern Tripoli.

This comes after the Commander of the LNA’s Western District, Mabrouk Al-Ghazwi, announced the deaths of 60 fighters and the injury of 100 others as they attempted to attack LNA positions in southern Tripoli on 29 May.
