Libyan Member of Parliament Condemns Turkish Defense Minister’s Speech

Libyan Member of Parliament Ali Al-Takbali condemned a speech by Turkish Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar in Tripoli, which he described as “hostile and transcendent” of all the red lines, according to al-Arabiya’s website.

The Libyan MP stressed that the speech indicated that Turkey has put the first step into occupying Libya and is continuing its objective day by day to capture the country’s national sovereign rights.

According to al-Takbali, the Government of National Accord (GNA) had been ready to hand over everything in exchange for its protection, which helped Turkey penetrate the country’s affairs.

Al-Takbali considered the presence of Libyan maps before the Turkish Defense Minister and Chief of Staff, General Yasar Guler, during their visit of Libyan bases as representative of Ankara’s ambitions.

He pointed out that what transpires from this situation is Turkey’s incursion into the country’s affairs and that the Libyan people must be informed of this.
