The World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with the National Center for Disease Control – Libya, hosted two pivotal workshops in Tripoli from February 24-26, focusing on fortifying the health of Libyan children against vaccine-preventable diseases. The sessions were designed for vaccination supervisors hailing from the western municipalities and the Jabal Nafusa area.

These workshops concentrated on enhancing the data quality within Libya’s vaccination program. Participants learned how to pinpoint data sources, set up an effective monitoring system, and choose indicators to monitor progress. The training stressed the critical need for ongoing follow-up to meet health objectives.

Throughout February, WHO and the National Center for Disease Control – Ministry of Health successfully trained 106 vaccination supervisors across Libya via five successive workshops. These initiatives were supported by the EU in Libya through the “One Health” project, demonstrating a strong commitment to public health and preventive care in the region.
