On Wednesday, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Libyan Parliament, voiced its complete solidarity with Lebanon. This is in the wake of a deadly blast that rocked Beirut on Tuesday, leaving more than 100 killed, and over 4,000 injured.
In a statement, the Committee expressed its sincere condolences for the families of the victims, calling for the speedy recovery of the wounded. It also expressed its hope that Lebanon will soon recover from this unfortunate catastrophe.
Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, called on “friendly countries” to lend support. Lebanon is already reeling from its worst economic crisis in decades, and the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
