Abdulhadi Al-Hwaij, Foreign Minister of the Libyan government appointed by the House of Representatives, officially inaugurated the new Chadian Consulate General in Benghazi alongside Mohamed Issa Zakaria during an official ceremony attended by Libyan and Chadian officials, diplomatic representatives and members of the Chadian community in eastern Libya.
The inauguration ceremony included the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and the raising of the Libyan and Chadian national flags above the consulate building, marking the official start of the diplomatic mission’s activities in Benghazi.
Among those attending the event was Al-Saleheen Abdelnabi, alongside diplomatic and consular representatives accredited in Benghazi.
In his speech, Al-Hwaij described the opening of the consulate as an important diplomatic step reflecting the depth of Libyan-Chadian relations and growing regional cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.

Zakaria also urged members of the Chadian community residing in Libya to respect Libyan laws and regulations and to contribute positively to bilateral relations between the two countries.
He expressed appreciation to the Libyan authorities and the Libyan National Army leadership for supporting stability and creating suitable conditions for the opening of the consulate.
Before the inauguration ceremony, Al-Hwaij held talks with the visiting Chadian delegation at the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Benghazi to discuss political coordination, regional security cooperation and the activation of bilateral agreements between the two countries.
Both sides stressed the importance of strengthening diplomatic communication and expanding cooperation in ways that support regional stability and serve the interests of both nations.
