Turkish Defence Minister Claims LNA Poses Threat to Regional Security

The Turkish Defence Minister, Hulusi Akar, claimed Thursday that foreign aid to the Libyan National Army (LNA) poses a threat to security and stability in the region.

In press statements to Turkish media, Akar reported that there is no military solution to the Libyan crisis and that everyone is convinced of this.

Akar pointed out that the aid that Haftar and his forces are receiving supports destabilizing diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire in Libya.

“In order to ensure peace and stability in Libya, all foreign aid to Haftar must be cut as soon as possible,” he claimed.

He also said that “Haftar’s forces” pose a major threat to security, stability, and diplomatic efforts.
