The Libyan Consulate General in Manchester announced that it will be closed from Friday until next Thursday, December 10, due to a consulate employee having contracted the Coronavirus.

On Friday, the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) registered 866 new Coronavirus cases in Libya. It also reported 13 new deaths from the virus and the recovery of 714 infected people.

In its statement, the National Center for Disease Control confirmed that it has received 4,861 samples.

The Al Wahat branch of the medical advisory committee to combat the epidemic warned citizens and especially family members of patients in the isolation center not to visit patients. It said that any visits were forbidden, citing dire consequences in terms of new infections.
