Authorities Arrest Illegal Immigrants in Eastern Libya

The Criminal Investigation Department of Al-Marj arrested 28 Egyptian immigrants who illegally entered the country on Thursday.

In a statement, Al-Marj’s Security Directorate stated that the migrants were traveling in two four-wheel drive cars heading towards the eastern gate of the city of Al-Marj, near Benghazi.

The police said that they found the body of an unidentified person in the trunk of one of the cars. Police added that the body was covered with a cloth and had traces of blood, it was transferred to the morgue of Al-Marj Hospital.

Libya has become the preferred point of departure for thousands of migrants wishing to cross the Mediterranean towards Europe.
