On Thursday, the Head of the Italian Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Marta Grande, said that Italy does not believe in a military solution to the Libyan crisis.
In a press statement, Grande said that Rome was participating in the implementation of the mechanisms of the Berlin Conference to support the launch of three tracks for Libyan dialogue, namely political, economic, and military.
Grande also stressed the strategic importance of Italian commitment to the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA). She noted that it is necessary to review the diplomatic memorandum of understanding signed with Libya.
