Libyan Army Marks February 17 Anniversary with Pledge to Defend State & Sovereignty

The General Command of the Libyan National Army congratulated the Libyan people on the 15th anniversary of the February 17 Revolution, describing the occasion as a defining moment in the country’s contemporary history and a symbol of the people’s aspirations for change and national dignity.

In an official statement, the General Command affirmed its solidarity with all Libyans in marking the anniversary, emphasizing that this national occasion represents a renewed commitment to unity, sovereignty, and stability.

It stressed that the armed forces will continue to fulfill what it described as their sacred duty to defend Libya’s territory, protect its institutions, and safeguard its independence against any threats.

The statement underlined that the Libyan National Army remains steadfast in its mission to maintain security and reinforce state authority across the country. It portrayed the armed forces as a cornerstone in the process of rebuilding national institutions and consolidating the rule of law, noting that stability and institutional strength are essential foundations for Libya’s future.

The General Command also reiterated its pledge to stand firm against any attempts to undermine the country’s security or destabilize its progress. It affirmed that the armed forces are committed to supporting efforts aimed at national reconciliation, reconstruction, and sustainable development, while ensuring that Libya’s sovereignty remains protected.
