On Sunday, The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 5 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of people infected with the virus to 8 across Libya. The NCDC added that the new patients had been in contact with other previously confirmed cases in Misrata.

It also added that seven suspected cases had their test results come out as negative.

On Saturday, the NCDC reported two more coronavirus-diagnosed patients, one of whom is from Misrata, while the other being from Tripoli.

It is noteworthy that Libya confirmed its first case of coronavirus last week, with years of violence leaving its healthcare system highly vulnerable.
