On Thursday, the US Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland announced his full support for Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Mangoush’s recent calls for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from the North-African country.

“We fully support Foreign Minister Al-Mangoush’s unambiguous call for the departure of foreign forces in the interest of Libyan sovereignty and stability,” Norland tweeted.

On Wednesday, the “Libya for All” movement also voiced its support for Al-Mangoush’s call, adding that maintaining the Libyan state’s sovereignty, and the independence of its internal and external decisions will not be achieved as long as foreign forces are still deployed on its soil.

On Monday, Al-Mangoush met with her Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu in Tripoli and called on Turkey to cooperate in evacuating foreign forces from Libya.

“Al-Mangoush called on Turkey to cooperate with regard to the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the outcomes of the Berlin Conference, including the evacuation of foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya, in support of Libya’s sovereignty,” a statement issued by the Libyan government said.
