Head of Libyan Presidential Council Receives Tunisian Prime Minister in Tripoli

On Saturday, the Head of Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Mnifi, received Tunisian Prime Minister, Hichem Mechichi, and his accompanying delegation. This came after their meeting with Libyan Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dbaiba.

According to a statement issued by the Presidential Council, the meeting dealt with bilateral relations and ways to enhance them. During the meeting, they stressed the importance of deepening political and economic consultations between the two countries.

On Saturday, a high-level delegation headed by the Tunisian Prime Minister paid a visit to Libya. The two-day visit was devoted to discussing ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

During his meeting with the Tunisian delegation, the Libyan Prime Minister announced that medical equipment will be sent to southern Tunisia to help confront the new COVID-19 outbreak. Dbaiba added that his government has asked Tunisia to facilitate the necessary procedures for the flow of movement at the border gates between the two countries.

This visit coincides with the resumption of flights between Tunisia and Libya via Tunisiair, which reopened its commercial air line and launched its new headquarters in the Tripoli Tower.
