On Saturday, a demonstration was held in the city of Benghazi to denounce and reject the continuous interference in the work of the Libyan Red Crescent. The Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the General Assembly of the Libyan Red Crescent and 34 members of the General Assembly participated in the demonstrations.

The Secretary-General of the Libyan Red Crescent, his Deputy, some Heads of the offices of the General Secretariat, Directors of the Libyan Red Crescent branches, and a number of Libyan Red Crescent volunteers from several branches also participated in the demonstrations.

The demonstrators blamed the first Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) for all the damages caused to the association by threatening its unity and independence. They called on the Attorney General to intervene in the investigation and take legal action.

In a tweet, the Libyan Red Crescent in Benghazi thanked all those who supported them in this vigil from the Civil Society Commission, the General Movement of Scouts, civil society institutions, councils of wise men, local authorities and all those interested in humanitarian and legal work.
