On Monday, Libya’s National Center for Disease Control reported a new COVID-19 patient had been discovered. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 26, including one death and nine recoveries.

Both Libyan governments have taken several precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

On April 4th, the municipal council of Misrata decided to cancel the 24-hour curfew it had announced a week earlier. It stated that it would implement the Government of National Accord’s curfew hours of 2 p.m. to 7 a.m. instead.

The Prime Minister of Libya’s Interim Government, Abdullah Al-Thini, ordered the formation of a committee tasked with disinfecting and sterilizing all Libyan cities in an attempt to curb the spread of the virus in Libya.
