Ramadan Othman, a member of the Coronavirus pandemic team at the WHO office in Libya, called on citizens to adhere to self-quarantine so that the country is not exposed to a full-blown epidemic.

Othman added that the health status of the newly infected coronavirus cases was very good. He pointed out that all cases that were transferred to hospital to undergo quarantine had been discharged except for the last case recorded two days ago.

He explained that the health condition of the rest of cases in isolation does not need intensive care in hospitals, adding that the case that was registered in the city of Sorman was discharged from the hospital and was fully recovered.

Othman stressed that the situation in the country is stable and reassuring as Libya did not exceed the danger stage.

It should be noted that the Libyan National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had reported on May 6, a new COVID-19 case in the country, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Libya to 64.
